Diocese of Mandya announces the institution of a permanent award in memory of Jerin Thobias established by his family- Thobias, Blessy and Joel.

This Annual Award is given in memory of Jerin Thobias Vakayil for those lay brothers and sisters who have shown exceptional skills to reach out those who are on the peripheries. The award winner gets Cash award of RS. 50,000 and a HONOURING PLAQUE. The award begins in the Year of Care.

Jerin Thobias who left us for eternal reward this year, is the son of Thobias and Blessy and the elder brother of Joel. He lived an exceptional life with beautiful devotion to Blessed Sacrament, with deep love for the parish community, with commitment to Jesus youth ministry, with zeal for spreading the word of God, with enthusiasm to care for brothers and sisters who are less fortunate. Mandya diocese is proud of this son. Jerin comes from Kasavanahalli Parish in the diocese of Mandya.

First award is presented to Sri. Shaju Thomas ( Shaju Appan), Director Thirumugha Ashram, Akashapparavakal, MS Palaya, Bengaluru
