Student Bible Exam – 2024-2025

General Instructions for Student Bible Exam

• NRSV English Bible only is recommended for reference.
• Emphasis should be placed on learning the exam portions thoroughly and memorising the verses.
• The exam shall be conducted at parish level for all students.
• Bible exam marks shall be added to the semester exam marks of the student.
• The question paper along with answer key for this exam shall be provided by CBC Mandya.

Portions: Gospel According to St Luke – Chapters 19 to 21 – Std III to XII

The following verses are to be by hearted by students of Std: III

1. Luke 20: 38 – Now he is God not of the dead but of the living, for to him all of them are alive.
2. Luke 19:10 – For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost.”
3. Luke 19:26 – I tell you, to all those who have, more will be given, but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.
4. Luke 21:3 – He said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them.
5. Luke 21:15 – for I will give you words and a wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to withstand or contradict.
6. Luke 19:17 –  He said to him, ‘Well done, good slave! Because you have been trustworthy in a very small thing, take charge of ten cities.’
7. Luke 20:25 – He said to them, ‘Then give to the emperor the things that are the emperor’s, and to God the things that are God’s. ‘
8. Luke 21: 33 – Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
9. Luke 20:36 – Indeed they cannot die anymore, because they are like angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.
10. Luke 19: 9 – Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham.
11. Luke 21:8 – And he said, “Beware that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name and say, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is near!’ Do not go after them.
12. Luke 20: 35 – but those who are considered worthy of a place in that age and in the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.

1. Luke 19:9 – Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham”
2. Luke 19:31 – If anyone asks you, “Why are you untying it?” Just say this, “The Lord needs it”.
3. Luke 19:38 –  “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest heaven!”
4. Luke 19:46 – And he said, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer’; but you have made it a den of robbers.”
5. Luke 20:25 – He said to them, “Then give to the emperor the things that are the emperor’s and to God the things that are God’s.”
6. Luke 20:36 – Indeed they cannot die anymore, because they are like angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.
7. Luke 20:38 – Now he is God not of the dead, but of the living; for to him all of them are alive.
8. Luke 20:42,43 – ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.”’

10. Luke 21:15 – For I will give you words and a wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to withstand or contradict.
11. Luke 21:17,18 – You will be hated by all because of my name. But not a hair of your head will perish.
12. Luke 21:33 – Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

6. Luke 20:18 “Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; and it will crush anyone on whom it falls.”
7. Luke 20:25 “He said to them, ‘Then give to the emperor the things that are the emperor’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
8. Luke 20: 36 Indeed, they cannot die anymore, because they are like angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.

13. Luke 21: 19 By your endurance you will gain your souls.
14. Luke 21:28 – “Now when these things begin to take place, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
15. Luke 21:31 “So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near.”
16. Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
17. Luke 21:36 Be alert at all times, praying that you may have the strength to escape all these things that will take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.

The following verses are to be by hearted by students of Std: VIII TO XII

1. Luke 19:5 When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down; for I must stay at your house today.”
2. Luke 19:9 Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham.
3. Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost.”
4. Luke 19:26 “I tell you, to all those who have, more will be given; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.”

16. Luke 21:34 “Be on guard so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day catch you unexpectedly.
